Seeking help can feel a really difficult step to make. To help you decide whether this is right for you and whether you feel Rockpool Psychology is the right service for you I want to tell you a bit more about who we are.
Dr Louise Clancy
I am a Practitioner Health Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and a chartered member of the British Psychological Society. I have experience of supporting people experiencing both physical and mental health problems. In particular, in supporting people to adjust to illness and injury, and in helping people make changes to improve their health and wellbeing.
I am passionate about people’s relationships with food and their bodies. I understand that many factors contribute to the tricky relationships we can have with food and our bodies and can make it very difficult for us to feel comfortable in our own skin.
I also have experience of providing training and supervision to healthcare professionals and university students and have published research in the area of long-term conditions.
To best tailor support to your needs I draw upon a range of health psychology models and evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT) and Narrative Therapy. As the expert on you, you will guide the work we do together; we will regularly check in with how you feel our sessions are going to ensure your needs are being met.
